Red Land Lacrosse Policies
2016-1 Refund Policy
After a player has registered and paid to play for Red Land Lacrosse, they are entitled to have half of their RLLC fees returned to them if they decide to drop out between February 1st thru Mar 15th. No refunds will be given if a player drops after the March 15th date.
This is due to the fact that we had to order uniforms as well as turn perspective players away. Any refund requests must be submitted by March 16th.
Also there are no refunds at all for the US Lacrosse memberships.
2016-2 Playing Time (revised 2/28/2017)
Our goal is that each player has the opportunity to play the following amount of time:
Boys 1/2, 3/4, Girls 1/2, 3/4 - ½ of the game.
Boys 5/6, Boys 7/8, Girls 5/6, Girls 7/8- 1/3 of the game.
2017-1 Tournament Playing Time
When registering for a tournament, it is the club’s policy that we “play to win.” Tournaments are not subject to the playing time as stated in Policy 2016-2. It is at the coaches’ discretion as to when and where to place players to put the team in the best position to win the tournament.
2016-3 Player Placement
RLLC is a member of the York County Lacrosse Association (YCLA) and the York Girls Lacrosse Association (YGLA) and as a member must comply with league rules and regulations. Both the YCLA and the YLA permit players to play up one age level (boys) or a grade level (girls) under circumstances and rules promulgated by the individual member clubs.
As such, RLLC sets forth the following criteria to consider if a player is to participate at a level above his/her current age/grade level.
- Player Safety. Would a player be safe if he or she was able to participate at the next level? Are the player’s physical skills commensurate with the players at that level.
- Team. If the transition is approved, would the transition displace players at that level or dilute playing time as to adversely impact the receiving team?
- Would the subject player’s transition impact the receiving team in a negative manner?
- Would failing to transition a player to the next level adversely impact the player’s development?
- Has the subject player participated at the proposed transition level prior to this time (ie travel teams)?
- How would the transition affect the relinquishing team?
- What is the current roster for both the receiving team and the relinquishing team especially at the subject player’s position?
Before any of the criteria are considered, the proposed transition should be approved by the head coaches of both the relinquishing and receiving team.
The RLLC board has final say in the decision of placing a player.
Player play up requests must be submitted to the board by March 1, 2018.
2016-4 Volunteer Policy
Every team (girls & boys) will be required to have the following:
1. Team Manager (similar to a "team mom")
2. Field Maintenance Manager (for lining fields, cones)
3. Picture Night Manager
4. Game Day Assignment- Every team will have one day where they are in charge of everything for the entire day of games, which will include all concessions, set up, tear down, time clock, etc... This will take the place of parents volunteering throughout the games all season.
If a team fails to meet these requirements, the next game will be forfeited.
2016-5 Code of Conduct/ Zero Tolerance Policy
Players, coaches, spectators and parents are to conduct themselves in a manner that "Honors the Game" and demonstrates respect to other players, coaches, officials and spectators. In becoming a member of the lacrosse community an individual assumes certain obligations and responsibilities to the game of lacrosse and its participants. The essential elements in this "Code of Conduct" are HONESTY and INTEGRITY. Those who conduct themselves in a manner that reflects these elements will bring credit to the sport of lacrosse, themselves, their team and their organization. It is only through such conduct that our sport can earn and maintain a positive image and make its full contribution to youth sports in the United States and around the world. US Lacrosse and its Youth Council support the following behaviors for those participating or involved in any way with US Lacrosse and youth lacrosse in general:
* The essential elements of the "Code of Conduct" must be adhered to.
* Sportsmanship and teaching the concepts of fair play are essential to the game and must be taught and developed both at home and on the field during practices and games.
* The emphasis on winning should never be placed above the value of good sportsmanship, the concepts of fair play or the skills of the game.
* The safety and welfare of the players are of primary importance.
* Coaches must always be aware of the tremendous influence they have on their players. They are to strive to be positive role models in dealing with young people, as well as with adults.
* Officials are expected to conduct themselves as professionals and in a manner that demonstrates courtesy and fairness to all parties while exercising their authority on the field.
* Adults involved with the game must never permit anyone to openly or maliciously criticize, badger, harass or threaten an official.
* Knowledge of the Rules of Lacrosse must be respected and adhered to by all who participate in the game of lacrosse, both in the letter and the spirit of the game. Attempts to manipulate rules in an effort to take unfair advantage of an opponent, or to teach deliberate unsportsmanlike conduct, is considered unacceptable conduct.
We understand that there will be times that a call may not go our way or there may be a player who gets upset. Under NO circumstances, will any of the following be tolerated:
Offensive language, helmet hitting, poor attitudes towards other players, coaches or referees, throwing of any equipment, etc… If any of these actions take place, the discipline guidelines are as follows:
1st offense – will result in not playing in the current or upcoming game
2nd offense – will result in not playing the following 2 games
3rd offense – will result in dismissal from the club pending a board hearing
These are general guidelines but we leave the exact discipline up to the coach’s discretion. The board has the final say and the right to dismiss any player from the club at any given time with no refund.
2016-6 Uniform Policy (revision 2/28/2017)
All uniforms (practice jerseys, game jerseys, game shorts) and any borrowed RLLC equipment must be returned to the club within 2 weeks of the last game in the Spring Season. Players will be responsible to cover the costs (uniforms are $100) for anything that is not returned or returned in unsatisfactory condition.
2017-2 Obligations to the Club
All fees must be paid and forms must be completed and returned in order to receive a uniform and participate in practice. If any obligations are owed to RLLC at any time, the player will sit out of all practices and/or games until all obligations are fulfilled. Players are still required to attend the practices and/or games.
2017-3 Floating Players
When any level of the club must divide into two teams due to numbers, floaters are only permitted in the event that one of the teams is unable to field a team for a game. The coaches will draw names to establish a floating schedule before the start of the season. If a floater is needed for a game, the first scheduled name would be permitted to float for that game only. If additional floaters are needed, the floaters will be determined by the schedule set up at the beginning of the season.
